Career Ambassador Program

About the program

Our Career Ambassadors are the face of DeakinTALENT on campus, operating weekly pop-up stalls, representing us at events and contributing to our social media campaigns.

Becoming a Career Ambassador is an opportunity for you to help other students and has multiple benefits for your own professional development and student experience at Deakin.

Ambassadors also participate in an exclusive professional development program to develop teamwork, communication and leadership skills.

Georgie, DeakinTALENT

DeakinTALENT Student Ambassador Program began in 2017 with 24 ambassadors across Burwood, Geelong Waterfront, Waurn Ponds and Cloud Campuses. The program provides the opportunity for students to be the front-facing representatives of the DeakinTALENT brand, through our pop-up stalls on Deakin's campuses, the online chat box, and various events, including our EE Expo. Ambassadors come across all faculties and stages in their studies, with a blend of international and domestic students.

Kara, DeakinTALENT Ambassador

Bevan, DeakinTALENT Ambassador

Brandon, DeakinTALENT Ambassador

DeakinTALENT has helped me with my interpersonal skills and working with others, especially with the other student ambassadors.

Georgie, DeakinTALENT

The program provides enhanced opportunities for its ambassadors to engage with career services, teaches them how to increase their professional marketability, leadership skills, and how to engage with employers with confidence.

Manasi, DeakinTALENT Ambassador

My favourite experience and memory as an ambassador was attending our induction, because during induction we learned so much about the different programs, services, and workshops.

Manooj, DeakinTALENT Ambassador

I like how DeakinTALENT helped me to improve my communication skills, especially in terms of conveying a message formally.

Belonging to the DeakinTALENT student ambassador program has helped me better understand the employer expectations and to market myself professionally.
